Great little piece of American fast food history! Solid thick metal with nice layers /shelving of REAL PORCELAIN! This sign shows minor signs of use and age. Rust and chipping around the mounting holes and edges. The unique graphic content makes this a GREAT addition to any Advertising collection! The signs have age on them and will show signs of wear. Vintage Cast Metal McDonald’s Ray Kroc Restaurant Advertising Plaque Sign 18X14

These plaques were only presented in 1983 from my research. This one came from a store in Ohio. A lot of the ads for these say they are resin, but these are actually too heavy to be just resin. Plaque weighs in at a hefty 12.5 lbs almost exactly! It is actually cast metal with a silver paint finish. And filled in back by resin. This accounts for the extra weight. One of the scuff marks on mine on outside edge reveals the metal underneath if you look carefully. You will see some of these with the hollow cast metal and no resin on back, so I do not know if they were. Made that way, or if the resin came loose somehow. I also do not know if they are solid aluminum, or some. Kind of alloy metal. Measures just over 18 in wide and just over 14 tall. THIS SIGN HAS FANTASTIC GRAPHICS OF THE VERY RARE & SELDOM SEEN SPEEDEE MASCOT WHICH WAS MCDONALDS RESTAURANT BEFORE RONALD MCDONALD WAS AROUND. THIS ALMOST LOOKS 3 DIMENSIONAL WHEN HUNG UP ON THE WALL & HAS A REALLY AWESOME SPEEDEE GRAPHICS. THIS SIGN WAS FOUND IN A LARGE ADVERTISING COLLECTION IN BEVERLEY PARK CALIFORNIA. THIS SIGN MEASURE 11 3/4″ BY 10″ AND WEIGHTS AROUND 1 POUND, 9 OUNCES AND IS MADE OF BAKED METAL. Please do your own research as vintage does not necessarily mean original.
