United States Park Service Blue Ridge Parkway route marker. Up for sale today is this United States Park Service Blue Ridge Parkway highway sign. Made to the exact 1953 federal specification that accompanied the highway and linear park at its opening. An original of these is very rare to find scrapped. Most of them have vanished from the back roads of United States Park Service many years ago, replaced with the modern issue. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without paying an arm and a leg on the collector’s market. The sign is 16 by 16 inches, and weighs 6 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Blue “J” with lights 20-21 tall approx… These are handmade metal sign letters meant to embrace the nostalgic look of the past. They are artist made (in the USA) from often vintage steel (heavy gauge steel) with all new wiring and electric sockets. They also all have finished backs with D hangers for wall mounting. I have always been fascinated with industrial objects of the past as well as using recycled elements, so these latest pieces are a combination of both. I will be creating new ones weekly and will post as completed. If you see it I have done it and can do more of it, if you don’t see it I CAN DO IT! These are custom made so all new orders will be approx 1-2 weeks approx.
