United States Park Service Blue Ridge Parkway route marker. Up for sale today is this United States Park Service Blue Ridge Parkway highway sign. Indiana US Route 40 route marker. Up for sale today is this Indiana US 40 route sign. Made to the exact 1958 state standard, as used between then and the early 1970s along this historic highway. For a good number of years, certain highway markers-mainly ones found at the state line-were given the state’s official colors of blue and gold. An original of these is very hard to come by. They were retired from the roads of Indiana long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector’s market. An original would easily run many hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the collector’s market. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without breaking the bank. The sign is 24 by 24 inches, and weighs 11 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel replica sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
