Made to the exact 1971 state specification that was in use until 2006, when California began using the (boring) federal standard one-way sign, which is identical, other than being on a rectangular blank. Nonetheless, the five-sided sign remains a familiar sight along California’s streets, and sometimes pops up elsewhere; a few examples exist in Las Vegas, for instance. I can also make a left-facing sign if desired. Just request “left arrow” in the personalization box at checkout! An original of these is very rare to find scrapped. This particular style was invented by the federal government as part of the 1961 Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) for installation on overhead green guide signs. Certain states used the variety with buttons, others without the black border-of the 66 states, this style of sign with the thick border and wide numerals was most often found in New Mexico and Texas.
