The sign depicts a pair of wedge-tailed shearwaters, which is also known as the? Ua? U kani in Hawaiian. The authorities know where they are supposed to be-on their posts, not in the trunk of your car. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without chancing legal trouble. It connects Lihue to the southwestern communites of Eleele and Waimea, and also the Pacific Missile Range Facility. An original of these is very rare to find scrapped. These are still used throughout the Hawaiian Islands to indicate a historic tourist site. It measures 28 1/2 high x 20 1/2 wide x 1 deep. Overall it is in very good to excellent condition. There is some damage to the graphics, see all photos. The colors are still vibrant with little fading. There is no hanging plaque beneath indicating the specific site this sign had once stood at. This would make an amazing addition to your road or advertising signs collection, tiki bar, travel memorabilia collection or Hawaiiana collection.
