Crestline, San Bernardino, Arrowhead guide sign. Up for sale today is this Crestline guide sign. Made to the exact standards as used from 1929 to 1934 by the Auto Club of Southern California. This guide sign was posted on State Route 138, just north of the junction with State Route 18, and very close to Skyland. The original of this guide sign, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, would cost many thousands of dollars-if it even survives! Only historic photos of it are known. This is a faithful remake for your convenience, to 21×14 inches instead of the original size of 36×24. It is flat printed on heavy steel with the correct layout, fonts and colors. It weighs about 7 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel replica sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Normal condition from age and weather etc. They do have some normal staining from being outside on the lake. They each measure about 9 x 23 inches. They are not exactly the same size. One may be 1/8 – 1/4 of an inch different in size. One is a little dirtier than the rest. All show signs of weather as would be expected from being outside on a lake for years. Winner gets all 3 signs. I don’t want to sell them separately because they have been together all this time. Nice old patina as you can see!
