Made to the exact 1956 state standard, as used between then and the early 1960s along this famous highway. Unfortunately, the designation was dropped when Yukon refused to renumber their segment of the Alcan from route 1. An original of these is very hard to come by. Very few were made, and they were only in place for a few years very long ago. An original would easily run many hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the collector’s market. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without chancing legal trouble. The sign is 16 by 16 inches, and weighs 5 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with any route number of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A. Life doesn’t happen along the interstates. It’s against the law. Figure about 5 lb. Please note: The watermark and bear logo in the design preview will not appear on the actual sign. We have begun adding a watermark because we have had problems with other companies copying our artwork to make lesser-quality imitations. You will only get this high level of quality in design and materials from Signs by Jake.

Indiana Interstate 465 route marker. Up for sale today is this Indiana Interstate 465 route sign. Made to the exact 1961 standard from the origins of the Eisenhower interstate highway system. The wider shields came with the revision of 1961-previously, three-digit route markers were the same size as two-digit, but with narrower numerals. This design was supplanted by the modern shield style-often with the state name omitted! -in 1971, and it gets harder and harder to find the original-style interstate route markers in many states. This sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 7 lb. And is 21 by 18 inches. It is a non-reflective sign-perfect for ordinary display, indoors or outdoors. If you would like a different size version, please ask as I can certainly make one! Texas Ranch Road 1 route marker. Up for sale today is this Texas Ranch Road 1 highway sign. Made to the exact 1965 standards used for the Farm to Market road system, when the design was first changed to the black square with white text, still in use today. Technically, Ranch Road 1 is not part of the Farm to Market/Ranch to Market road system, but a special designation serving Lyndon B. Johnson’s former ranch near Stonewall. An original of these is very rare to find scrapped; most of them enjoy their active service on the highway and the side streets. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without chancing a run-in with the Texas Rangers. The sign is 16 by 16 inches, and weighs 6 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign.
