Maker’s mark IR 51. This Sam arena 1951 vintage porcelain advertising sign is in very nice condition. Shows excellent color and gloss with minor chips in the outer field, as well as some moderate mounting hole and outer edge chips. Really, beautiful layers of porcelain on this one. It is USED and was hanging displayed outside. So please expect to see some rust around the mounting holes and edges. Despite this, the colors are still strong and it looks great! Feel free to zoom in and check out all of the photographs for you, they are the best description of the exact sign. The sign is made to the 1919 specification of the California State Auto Association, with the logo at the bottom (as well as the association name at the sides) and with sharp corners. Later generations changed to rounded corners for safety, in case an unexpected kinetic event caused the darn thing to come flying through the windshield. I can, of course, make this route marker with any combination of destinations you like.
