FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A VINTAGE “VOLKSWAGEN VW SERVICE FOR CARS, TRUCKS & BUSES WITH AWESOME VW LOGO AND WRENCH GRAPHICS” 6″ BY 3.5″ THICK (3 OUNCES) PORCELAIN METAL GASOLINE & OIL DOOR PUSH PLATE ADVERTISING SIGN. THIS SIGN HAS FANTASTIC GRAPHICS OF THE VERY NEAT AND SELDOM SEEN BLUE VW LOGO WHICH STOOD FOR VOLKSWAGEN. THIS SIGN HAS A WRENCH ON THE BOTTOM OF IT AND IS MADE OF THICK HEAVY PORCELAIN. THIS WAS BELIEVED TO BE A DOOR PUSH PLATE SIGN AND HAS GREAT GRAPHICS AND HAS A DOMED SHAPE TO IT. THIS SIGN DOES SHOW SOME VERY LIGHT WEAR & USE, BUT DISPLAYS VERY WELL. THIS SIGN MEASURE 6″ BY 3.5″ AND IS VERY HEAVY FOR ITS SIZE WEIGHTING OVER 3 OUNCES AND IS MADE OF THICK DOMED PORCELAIN METAL. Hello and I appreciate your time. I pack well and attempt to pack just like it was coming to me. I will describe this item to the best of my ability and knowledge. This is Not a repro and comes from a Long Ago Closed Down Gas Station. This is a Great Piece, and Is Very Hard to find at All! This is a Dated 1937 Sign and has Not been restored or repainted. I gave it a brush bath and put a little wax on it. It is made of Heavy Metal. The ACME and Border is Embossed. It has the Clover Logo and reads: CITIES SERVICE ACME TIRES. The Makers Mark or Hallmark reads: A. SIGN CO LYNCHBURG VA 6-37. It measures about 59 inches tall and about 17 inches wide. It has 8 Original Factory Holes for mounting. The Condition is Very Good to me considering Age and Rarity. It is Straight with NO extra holes. The Paint is Strong and has Nice Shine. The spot to the left at the C and M has paint loss and rust. It has some mild expected wear. It does not have flaking or peeling paint. You will be Very Pleased! Dont miss for your Cities Service, Tire, Oil, Gas, Sign, or Petroleum Collection.
