Nebraska Highway 2 route marker. Up for sale today is this Nebraska Highway 2 sign. Made to the exact standards as used from 1975 to the present along this historic highway. Highway 2, or N-2, is the longest route in Nebraska, going from the southeast corner of the state to the northwest. The Nebraska state route marker has always featured the Conestoga wagon design as seen here, complete with pioneer man, woman, and oxen. Over the years, the wagon has gotten smaller and the route number has gotten larger for practical reasons, with the general layout of a trapezoid on a square blank first appearing in the early 1970s. In this sign designer’s humble opinion, the Nebraska covered wagons old and new are the best route marker designs on the planet. An original of these is most likely to be found in active service along Highway 2. The authorities know where they are supposed to be-on their posts, not in the trunk of your car. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without chancing legal trouble. The sign is 16 by 16 inches, and weighs 6 lb. This is a high quality, non-reflective replica sign printed on heavy steel. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. 24 by 24 inch Nebraska state route 61 highway sign. The sign dates to approximately the 1990s. It is made to the specification that has been in use in Nebraska from 1975 to the present day. In this Professional Sign Salesman’s opinion, the Nebraska wagon is the most lovely sign design around, from the beginnings in 1925 to the modern route markers. Condition is as shown in the photos. Sign is black screen print on honeycomb white reflective sheeting on aluminum. It lies completely straight and flat, with patina commensurate with its service. In the center of the sign there is the graphic of a large cattle hauling wagon, and behind the wagon, there is the graphics of some cows that are ready to be loaded in. Surrounding the graphic there is some advertising wording. The lower left corner of the sign has the manufacture logo mark. Here is a great sign that you do not come across often, the sign has some paint ware and discoloration throughout, but still a nice sign for display. It measures 46 inches wide and 28 inches tall. If you collect signs, oil cans, cabin decor, farm signs, tractor signs, ranch, cows, pigs, chickens, swine, hog, etc, Add this nice piece to your collection. I can accept Pay Pal.
