Vintage Art Deco Metal FUNERAL DIRECTOR Sign Harold F. Horne

This is a very cool looking vintage Art Deco metal funeral director sign. Based on its design, I would estimate it dates circa 1930s or 1940s. It measures 29 5/8 inches wide by 11 inches high by 1 1/4 inches thick (75.2 cm x 28 cm x 3.2 cm). I’m fairly certain it’s made of hard painted aluminum. The insert in the back is made of black painted wood. The letters are attached to the sign with screws through the back. I’m not sure why there are scratches on the back or the purpose of that rust colored putty. As you can see in the photos, there are stains, scuff marks and scattered chipping on the gray background. The short light gray strip going along the left side in the front is a little loose, but still holds on fine. I tried to find Harold F. Horne on Google, but to no avail. It could be he closed his business many years ago, given the age of the sign. It weighs exactly 9 pounds (4.086 kg). The item “Vintage Art Deco Metal FUNERAL DIRECTOR Sign Harold F. Here is a great piece that you do not see often. I have decided to sell it along with a few other pieces I have collected. This sign is made of metal. On the front of the piece there is the graphic of a house surrounded by trees on the left side of the sign. In the lower right corner of the sign there is the smaller fine print wording of Brown & Bigelow – St. Here is a great sign to add to the collection, the sign has some paint ware and a few small bends, but overall a nice sign for display. This great piece measure 14 inches tall and 20 inches wide.
