VINTAGE VERY RARE HARD TO FIND WHITE TOWER RESTAURANT MENU METAL SIGN. FRONT CONTAINS THE WHITE TOWER LOGO – MENU AND REVERSE IS A SHINY SILVER METALLIC COLOR. HARD TO DATE, BUT THE PRICES TELL A LOT ABOUT ITS AGE. HISTORY: White Tower Hamburgers was a fast food restaurant chain that was founded in 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With its similar white fortress-like buildings and menu it is considered to be an imitator of White Castle chain that was founded in 1921. The chain was successful and expanded to other cities, including Chicago, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York City, Albany, Boston, Richmond, Virginia, and as far south as Sarasota, Florida. The whiteness of the restaurant was meant among other things to evoke the notion of hygienic conditions, and the chain had staff dressed as nurses, dubbed the “Towerettes, ” to help make this argument. This is a pretty cool piece of advertising memorabilia! This is a metal chalkboard sign from 1964 that was used in restaurants to display the daily specials and what have you. The condition is good considering it’s 55 years old and it’s been moved around for years. The corners are dinged and have some paint loss as does other areas of the front. The sign measures 20″ wide by 28″ high and the actual chalkboard area is 18″ wide by 16 1/2″ high. Please see the pictures for the most accurate description! Rare Vintage Nesbitts 1940s 50s Advertising Menu Board Embossed Metal. Up for sale is a very hard to find vintage original Nesbitts orange of California metal Embossed Advertising Menu board. Says Nesbitts made from Real Oranges with the Nesbitts bottle on front right corner. Great menu sign measures 23 1/2 inches Tall and 17 1/2 inches wide. Marked on the bottom left of the sign. Black menu board with orange bottle white and orange writing. Condition is good there is some scratches scuffs little rust around the edges but overall great shape.
