Manitoba Highway 8 route marker. Up for sale today is this Manitoba highway 8 sign. This sign is made to the exact 1926 provincial standard that was used in the initial signage before being replaced by a minor variant in 1929, and then one in the 1950s that had a smaller bison and larger numerals. Enthusiasts of other North American great plains jurisdictions may recognize the layout and numerals being identical to the first-generation Nebraska route marker. If you would like a different route number, I can certainly make that as well! An original of these is very rare to find scrapped. Most of them have vanished from the back roads of Manitoba many years ago, replaced with the modern issue. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without paying an arm and a leg on the collector’s market. The sign is 12 by 12 inches along the diagonal sides, and weighs 3 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection.
