New York US Route 6 route marker. Up for sale today is this New York US Route 6 sign. Made to the exact 1927 state standard, complete with the unique double border only ever used in New York state. An original of these is very hard to come by. They were retired from the roads of New York long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector’s market. An original would easily run many hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the collector’s market. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without breaking the bank. The sign is 12 by 12 inches, and weighs 2 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel replica sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
