Texas Farm Road 2410 route marker. Up for sale today is this Texas Farm to Market Road 2410 highway sign. Made to the exact 1965 standards, when the design was first changed to the black square with white text, still in use today. Generally speaking, farm roads are east of Austin, and ranch roads are west. This one is located in Killeen and Belton. An original of these is very rare to find scrapped; most of them enjoy their active service on the highway and the side streets. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without chancing a run-in with the Texas Rangers. The sign is 16 by 16 inches, and weighs 6 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Please do see my other auctions for quality Texas US and state route markers! Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with any route number of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A. Life doesn’t happen along the interstates. It’s against the law. Figure about 8 lb. The watermark and bear logo in the design preview will not appear on the actual sign. We have begun adding a watermark because we have had problems with other companies copying our artwork to make lesser-quality imitations. You will only get this high level of quality in design and materials from Signs by Jake.

Harbor Freeway guide sign. Up for sale today is this California freeway guide sign for the Harbor Freeway, which at the time carried US 6. This sign is taken from the freeway’s interchange with the San Bernardino, Santa Ana, and Harbor freeways. Made to the exact 1958 state standards, as used by the state of California on its early freeways. They were clearly still figuring things out… Note the black background! An original of these is very difficult to find; it is very unlikely to have survived very long after its replacement. Not only that, but if it did, it would be a herculean effort to transport; the original of this sign is also twenty feet wide, so we’ve scaled it down for more wieldy display. Here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without chancing a hernia. The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 3 lb. And is 16 by 8 inches. If you would like a different size, please do not hesitate to inquire. This is a high quality, heavy steel, non-reflective sign – perfect for indoor or outdoor display. I can of course make these signs with any destinations of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from bygone eras. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A. Figure about 5 lb. The watermark and bear logo in the design preview will not appear on the actual sign. We have begun adding a watermark because we have had problems with other companies copying our artwork to make lesser-quality imitations. You will only get this high level of quality in design and materials from Signs by Jake. Life doesn’t happen along the interstates. It’s against the law.

US Route 80 route marker. Up for sale today is this US 80 route sign. Made to the exact 1957 standard as used in various states along this famous road. This sign style was invented by the state of California in 1957, and adopted by the American Association of State Highway Officials for installation in conjunction with the brand new red, white and blue Interstate route markers until the federal standards of 1961 were ready. Though the style was supplanted by the 1961 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, several states used this sign style for many years, and California continues to do so to this very day. An original of these is very hard to come by. In most parts of the country, they were retired from the roads long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector’s market. An original would easily run many hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the collector’s market. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without breaking the bank. The sign is 16 by 16 inches, and weighs 5 lb.
