FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A VINTAGE “MICHELIN TIRES WITH BIBENDUM MAN GRAPHICS ” 11 3/4 ” BY 3″ HEAVY (8 OUNCES) PORCELAIN METAL GASOLINE & OIL ADVERTISING THERMOMETER SIGN. THIS SIGN HAS AWESOME GRAPHICS OF THE MICHELIN MAN LOGO ALSO REFERRED TO AS THE BIBENDUM MAN AND HAS A WORKING THERMOMETER. IT IS VERY HARD TO FIND ADVERTISING WITH THE MICHELIN MAN LOGO ON IT. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE THERMOMETER COLOR IS RED ON THIS ONE. THIS IS A VERY HARD THERMOMETER TO FIND. THIS SIGN / THERMOMETER ONLY SHOWS SOME LIGHT WEAR AND DISPLAYS WELL WITH GORGEOUS GLOSS. THIS SIGN MEASURE 11 3/4″ BY 3″ AND WEIGHTS 8 OUNCES AND IS MADE OF THICK PORCELAIN METAL AND KEEPS CORRECT TEMPATURE. CHECK MY OTHER LISTINGS FOR MORE NEAT SIGNS & ANTIQUES. All original 1920s era thermometer-large-measures around 27 inches x 7 inches wide. Condition is aged and faded with some hazing of the blue color. Some surface scrapes and scuffs and chipping around the edges. Overall not bad considering its age and outside use for years. Here is a great piece that you do not see often. The sign is all metal, and is single sided. I have decided to sell it along with a few other pieces I have collected. There is the large wording of Nesbitts across the center. There is the smaller advertising wording surrounding. There is the graphic of the pop bottle on the right side. Here is a nice sign to add to the collection, the sign appears to have advertising wording on one side, not sure if it was made that way, or if someone had painted over it at some point. The sign has some paint ware, fading, but overall a nice sign. Measures 18 inches wide and 14 inches tall. Must handle with caution and care rusted sharp metal edges!! Flange is in poor condition. Original real early 1900s era metal sign. Double sided both sides shown. Condition is a little rough but displays very well! Great deep blue and white colors. Made of porcelain enamel over metal-measures 17 x 20 inches. It is distressed-scuffs-scratches-bends and dents-rust and tears-sharp edges–it is NOT in mint condition-I think it looks better this way-adds character.
