This fun 1990’s sculpture with sanded steel surfaces and raw spot welded joints scratched/painted removable/posable central element measures18″ tall on a 12 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ x 5/8″ thick steel base. It has pleasing unfinished surfaces contrasting with painted accents and light rust. The 9 3/4″ wide central frame of 3/16″ square stock has spring-tensioned hammer-wrought central arms which can hold the painted and rusted abstract 9 1/4″ x 6 1/2″ central element is many differnt positions playfully crossing the lines between static and dynamic. It bears a worn d! Cipher on the bottom. David Adam DeVillier b. 1960 was born in Louisiana and received his Bachelors of Fine Arts at Louisiana State University, his MFA from Yale. Devillier has divided his life between family, his studio and the classroom, translating his quirky humor and quixotic visions into timeless two and three dimensional objects.
