The sign features the double border unique to the early New York state and US route markers. New York 17 runs for 397 mi. (638.91 km) from the Pennsylvania state line in Mina and traveling along the southern edge of the state until it reaches the New Jersey state line near Suffern. Along the way, New York 17 is concurrent with the Southern Tier Expressway, the Quickway, and the Orange Turnpike, as well as Interstate 86. The sign features the custom fonts used by the state well into the 1980s. I can, of course, make this sign with any route or destination of your choice.
