United States SOUTH auxiliary banner highway marker. Up for sale today is this white-on-green SOUTH sign. This simple, easy design is the perfect complement to a route shield, of which I have many. This particular color scheme would be most frequently seen with a California state route marker, though it would also be appropriate for a Business Interstate, or perhaps some other white-on-green sign. The design is as specified in the 1961 federal Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. These banners continue their use to the present day, albeit in larger size to correspond to larger route shields. The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 3 lb. And is 24 by 12 inches.
