Indiana Toll Road route marker. Up for sale today is this Indiana Toll Road sign. Made to the exact standards as used from the toll road’s inception in 1956 to the present day. The Indiana East-West Toll Road was built across northern Indiana as a connector between Detroit and Chicago, as well as a continuation of the toll roads starting from New York City and heading through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. A North-South Toll Road never made it past the planning stages; it was supplanted by the Eisenhower Interstate System’s I-65. This style with the arrow was used on side streets to indicate the direction of travel needed to get to the Toll Road. If you’d like the arrow pointing in a different direction, or removed entirely, just say so in the item personalization box at checkout. An original of these is most likely to be found in active service along the Indiana Toll Road. The authorities know where they are supposed to be-on their posts, not in the trunk of your car. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without chancing legal trouble. The sign is 16 by 16 inches, and weighs 5 lb.
