16 x 16 inch Massachusetts state route 140 highway marker. Made to the 1947 specification in which the state used aluminum – extremely prevalent at the time – and a variety of reflective materials before finally settling on wooden signs in 1949. Condition is as shown in the photos. Sign reflective panels containing the number “140” on white paint on aluminum. It lies completely straight and flat with patina commensurate with its service.
