
Kansas state route 23 highway marker road sign sunflower shield 1950s 3997



15 by 15 inch Kansas state route 23 highway marker. Made to the 1951 specification that introduced this particular font and layout on the flat shields – the previous ones had a bottom rocker with the word “highway”. Kansas used this design, with only minor variation, until 1978. Condition is as shown in the photos. Sign is black screen print on reflective beaded yellow paint on steel. It lies almost completely straight and flat with generous helpings of patina. Signs guaranteed old, original, authentic.
