This design was supplanted by the modern shield style – often with the state name omitted! – in 1971, and it gets harder and harder to find the original-style interstate route markers in many states. This particular section of the interstate route is a significant part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and runs from the state’s border with Ohio across most of Pennsylvania, then into New Jersey. Interstate 76 diverges from the Penna Turnpike at Valley Forge, however, turning to enter Philadelphia on the Schuylkill Expressway. It later becomes the North-South Freeway in New Jersey. I can, of course, make this sign with any route or destination of your choice.
