Manhattan New York City West End Ave W 75th humpback street sign TWO-SIDED 22×12
Manhattan, New York West End Avenue sign. Up for sale today is this Manhattan, New York West End Avenue sign, which faced West 75th Street. The sign is made to the 1910s specification used by the city to designate this famous street in the heart of Manhattan, New York. This is the last style of porcelain sign before retroreflective signage, unfortunately no longer in the distinct “humpback” shape any longer, was introduced in 1950s. Take this opportunity to show your love for New York and own a piece of roadside history all in one! I can, of course, make a sign like this for any pair of streets, anywhere in the Big Apple! I can make the correct sign for any other city too! An original of these is very rare to find scrapped; they have long since been retired from service. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without the need of a time machine. The sign is flat printed on one side, on heavy steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 5 lb. And is 22 by 12 inches. If you would like a different size or street name pair, please do not hesitate to inquire. And if you would like a two-sided sign, please see my other listings! This is a high quality, heavy steel, non-reflective sign – perfect for indoor or outdoor display. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! I can of course make these signs with any destinations of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from bygone eras. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A. Figure about 7 lb. The watermark and bear logo in the design preview will not appear on the actual sign. We have begun adding a watermark because we have had problems with other companies copying our artwork to make lesser-quality imitations. You will only get this high level of quality in design and materials from Signs by Jake. Life doesn’t happen along the interstates. It’s against the law.
