Made to the exact state standard, as used to the present day. Colorado’s Scenic Byways all bear this marker, with a beautiful columbine flower, the state flower of Colorado, to distinguish the scenic and historic byways from other routes. Since 1989, Colorado has designated 26 routes, covering 2,585 miles (4,160 km) of roads across the state, and 4,459 miles (7,176 km) if you include the extensions to byways that cross into adjacent states. An original of these is most likely to be found in active service along the roads of Colorado. The authorities know where they are supposed to be-on their posts, not in the trunk of your car.
