FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A VINTAGE 1951 “SMOKEY THE BEAR PROTECT OUR FORESTS, PREVENT WILD FIRES WITH SMOKEY GRAPHICS” 11 3/4″ BY 11 3/4″ HEAVY (1 POUND, 9 OUNCES) PORCELAIN METAL FIRE PREVENTION, US FOREST SERVICE, GASOLINE & OIL ADVERTISING SIGN. THIS SIGN HAS FANTASTIC GRAPHICS OF THE VERY NEAT AND SELDOM SEEN SMOKEY THE BEAR WITH AWESOME COLORS AND A 1951 U. FOREST SERVICE DEPARTMENT AGRICULTURE. THIS IS A USED SIGN AND SHOWS LIGHT WEAR & USE BUT DISPLAYS WELL WITH GORGEOUS GRAPHICS AND GLOSS. THIS SIGN MEASURE 11 3/4″ BY 11 3/4″ AND VERY HEAVY FOR ITS SIZE WEIGHTING 1 POUND, 9 OUNCES AND IS MADE OF THICK PORCELAIN METAL. Vintage Smokey The Bear Metal Forest Service Sign Very Large Over 7′ Tall

Please note – I have no knowledge of it’s age (though I believe it may be from the 1950’s or 1960’s) or it’s history. Dimensions: 59.5″ at its widest (the base) x 89″ at its tallest (tip of his hat). It is approximately 1/16 thick. A magnet does not stick so I believe it is either stainless steel or aluminum. The colors / paint is very faded. There are approximately 15 holes in various areas from it being bolted to a post or frame. It has scuffs, scratches, nicks/dings, a bend at the base, etc. Please see pictures to review style and condition. Vintage Johnson Outboard Boat Motor Metal Sign Forest Lake MN Gasoline Oil

Here is a great piece that you do not see everyday! Across the top of the sign there is the larger wording of Johnson Outboard Motors across the top. In the lower section of the sign there is the local person advertising. Here is a great original embossed tin sign that has some light surface rust and some minor paint ware, overall a great sign for the collection. I do have a white inventory sticker on the sign to the right of the boat, below the LA wording. The dimensions of the sign are about 19 inches wide and 24 inches tall. If you collect gas and oil, oil bottles and cans, gas pumps, service station, mohawk tires, exide batteries, marine outboard motors, Johnson Seahorse, Evinrude, Mercury, Elto motors, Oliver Tractor Co boat Motor, Nautical Boat, Fishing etc, Add this nice piece to your collection.
