California State Route 33 highway marker. Up for sale today is this California State Route 33 highway sign. Made to the exact 1934 specification that was in use until 1935 by the Automobile Club of Southern California, which posted signage along the route in Ventura, Kern County and everywhere in between during those days. An original of these is very rare to find scrapped. A sign like this, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, will set you back many hundreds or even thousands of dollars. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without paying an arm and a leg on the collector’s market. The sign is 11 by 12 inches, and weighs 2 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
