Nevada US Route 395 highway marker road sign 1935 Reno Carson City Minden 12×12

Nevada US Route 395 marker. Up for sale today is this Nevada US Route 395 sign. Made to the exact 1935 state standard, as used between then and 1935 along this famous highway. This sign style was the among first ever US Route markers ever posted in Nevada, as the highway department alternated between the porcelain and the embossed styles up to about 1939 or so. Only the porcelain signs got the distinct state-outline logo. US Route 395 in Nevada lies between two segments in California. It serves as the main street of Northern Nevada, serving Douglas County, the capital Carson City (where it once overlapped US 50, the Lincoln Highway), and Reno. After its return to California, it travels even further north through Oregon and Washington. An original of these is very hard to come by. They were retired from the roads of Nevada long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector’s market. An original, complete with the logo of the Nevada Department of Highways, would easily run many thousands of dollars on the collector’s market. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without breaking the bank. The sign is 12 by 12 inches, and weighs 2 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel replica sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Please do see my other auctions for quality Nevada state and Interstate route markers! Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with any route number of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A. Life doesn’t happen along the interstates. It’s against the law. Figure about 4 lb. The watermark and bear logo in the design preview will not appear on the actual sign. We have begun adding a watermark because we have had problems with other companies copying our artwork to make lesser-quality imitations. You will only get this high level of quality in design and materials from Signs by Jake.
