FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A VINTAGE 1929 “DRINK POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN SODA WITH 2 BOTTLE OF SODA AND POPEYE GRAPHICS ” 12″ BY 8″ SUPER HEAVY AND THICK (OVER 2 POUNDS, 4 OUNCES) PORCELAIN METAL SODA POP ADVERTISING SIGN. THIS SIGN HAS AWESOME GRAPHICS OF POPEYE THE SAILOR MAN WITH THE WORDS: I YAM WHAT I YAM AND I YAM TOPS. THIS SIGN IS MARKED: C 1929 KINGS FEATURE SYNDICATE IN THE BOTTOM LEFT. I LOOKED IT UP AND THAT IS INDEED THE COMPANY THAT MADE AND OWNED THE RIGHTS TO POPEYE. THESE GRAPHICS ARE RARE AND SELDOM SEEN AND ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITE ALONG WITH THE VERY HEAVY OVER 2 POUNDS, 4 OUNCES OF PORCELAIN AND YOU HAVE A GREAT PIECE OF ADVERTISING. THIS IS A VERY HARD TO FIND SIGN IN THIS CONDITION AND DOES SHOW A FEW CHIPS NEAR THE TOP AND BOTTOM, SCRATCHES AND USE AROUND THE HOLES BUT THE GLOSS IS AMAZING. THIS SIGN IS MARKED: C 1929 KINGS FEATURE SYNDICATE INC. NEAR THE BOTTOM LEFT. THIS SIGN HAS 4 HOLES FOR HANGING AND IS MADE OF HEAVY PORCELAIN. THIS IS A VERY HARD TO FIND SIGN IN THE PORCELAIN VERSION. THIS SIGN DISPLAYS VERY WELL WITH GORGEOUS GLOSS AND MINOR WEAR, EDGE CHIPS ETC.. THIS SIGN MEASURE 12″ BY 8″ AND AND WEIGHTS A WHOPPING 2 POUNDS, 4 OUNCES AND IS MADE OF THICK HEAVY PORCELAIN. NOT CHEAP TIN OR THIN METAL. Please do your own research as vintage does not necessarily mean original. Note: I was left with a large advertising collection along with some that I have collected over the years & I also attend high end estate sales in the area.
