North Carolina US Route 421 marker. Up for sale today is this North Carolina US Route 421 sign. Made to the exact 1926 federal standard, as used between then and 1948 along this famous highway. An original of these is very hard to come by. They were retired from the roads of North Carolina long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector’s market. An original would easily run many hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the collector’s market. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without breaking the bank. The sign is 16 by 16 inches, and weighs 5 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel replica sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection.
