This sign is posted at crossings of creeks and streams that drain to the Hudson River. The fish shown on the sign is an Atlantic sturgeon, the largest fish found in the river. An original of these is most likely to be found in active service on the roads of upstate New York. The New York State Police knows where they are supposed to be-on their posts, not in the trunk of your car.
