It is made by the state of North Dakota to the 1961 specification that was the last route marker to feature Chief Red Tomahawk. In 2016, the state did away with the classic Native American design and replaced it with a somewhat more boring map outline of the state. This is the classic heavy aluminum variant, 1/8 inch thick to ward against those heavy North Dakota winds! With screen printed number, and the correct silhouette of Chief Red Tomahawk.
