Made to the exact 1961 federal standards, as used by the state of New Mexico on its freeways. This sign, which was removed from the highway sometime between 2004 and 2009, is the easternmost appearance of Los Angeles on a normal highway sign. Distances of over 1,000 miles are rarely seen on typical US road signs! The original of this was most likely melted down and turned into beer cans long ago. Not only that, but it would a herculean effort to transport; the original of this sign is also 23 feet wide, so we’ve scaled it down for more wieldy display.
