It is designed in the style of a sign that would be mounted above the travel lanes, on a gantry truss, or perhaps a bridge. This particular sign would be positioned above three travel lanes of, or leading to, Interstate 95 south. An original of these would be over 31 feet wide. Good luck fitting that in your garage, much less getting it home. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without chancing a hernia. Our sign is scaled down from the original mammoth size to a more reasonable 21 by 7 inches. It weighs 3 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. The sign is made to the 1927 specification that formalized black text on a white background. New Mexico made these signs starting in 1927 out of sturdy steel before switching to wood by the 1930s or so. Condition is as shown in the photos.
