This is the first design of yield sign, introduced to clarify how merging onto those newfangled Interstate highways was supposed to work. Much like the STOP sign, the yield sign was originally yellow to denote a hazard condition. It was later upgraded to red and white to call more attention to the combined warning and regulatory nature of the sign. An original of these is very hard to come by. They were retired long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector’s market. An original would easily run many hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the collector’s market. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without breaking the bank. The sign is 19 by 16 inches, and weighs 4 lb. This is a high quality, non-reflective replica sign printed on heavy steel. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection.
