30 by 20 inch Michigan state highway guide sign. Route 78 – Colon city limits. The sign is made to the 1920 specification that first defined a state highway system, and its signage, in Michigan. Condition is as shown in the photos. Sign is black roll-coated highlights on white paint on embossed steel. It lies almost completely straight and flat, and has been restored to the correct colors and finish. Signs guaranteed old, original, authentic.

US 16 is no longer anywhere to be found in Michigan. It was replaced by interstates 96 and 196 in 1962. An original of these is very hard to come by. They were retired from the roads of Michigan long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector’s market. 24 by 24 inch Michigan route 99 highway marker. Made to the 1948 specification that introduced the flat diamond-shaped signs that were used until approximately 1969. Condition is as shown in the photos. Sign is black screen print on engineer grade reflective sheeting, on aluminum. It lies completely straight and flat and has patina commensurate with its service.
