1935 Florida license plate US Navy 941 unused NOS locking strip shield military
Very nice unrestored 100% original Florida license plate. 1935, US Navy issue. 12 x 5 inches; black legend on yellow background. Completely straight and flat with excellent original paint as seen in the photos. Fresh out of the barn! Never-installed locking tab included. Condition of plate and tab is new old stock – completely unused, with paint quality commensurate with sitting in the Florida sun for a decade or eight. Tab was to be inserted to validate the plate, and it locked in place and couldn’t be removed until 1936 when the removal elegantly destroyed it. A complicated but innovative precursor to the modern adhesive stickers. Plates guaranteed old, authentic, and compliant with YOM regulations. Always wear your seatbelt.
