Made to the exact standards as used from 1929 to 1934 by the Auto Club of Southern California. I can, of course, make this sign with any mileage or destinations of your choice. Here is your chance to own a beautiful sign commemorating all the fun you and your loved ones have had in these beautiful towns, without breaking the bank. The original of this guide sign, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, would cost many thousands of dollars – if it even survives! Only historic photos of it are known. I can make a sign with a combination of any destinations; inquire about your home towns! The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 15 lb. And is 30 by 20 inches. If you would like a different size, combination of destinations, or mileages, please do not hesitate to inquire. This is a high quality, heavy steel, non-reflective sign – perfect for indoor or outdoor display, with great gloss to replicate the old-school porcelain look. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. California bear state route 12 road highway sign shield marker 1935 porcelain

15.5 by 17.25 inch California state route 12 highway sign. The sign is made to the original 1934 state specification with no reflectors. The actual date code is sadly obliterated, but most of the original bear route shields were made during the first two years – 1934 and 1935 – as literally every route had to be signed. Condition is as shown in the photos. Sign is black on white porcelain, on steel. It lies almost completely straight and flat, and has patina commensurate with its service and then some possible mishandling at the dump site. It makes no sense to leave such a brilliant relic to the whims of the US Postal Service and their package-losing ways. Signs guaranteed old, original, authentic.
