Navajo Trail route marker. Up for sale today is this Navajo Trail sign. Made to the exact standards as used along this famous highway. The Navajo Trail was dedicated in 1962, and ran from Flagstaff, Arizona to Holly, Colorado, much of it following the path of what is now US Route 160. Locations easy accessible from the route include the Grand Canyon, the Four Corners monument, and Mesa Verde. An original of these is very hard to come by. They were retired from the roads of the Four Corners states long ago, with most of them being destroyed and only a few examples circulating on the collector’s market. An original would easily run many hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the collector’s market. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without breaking the bank. The sign is 21 by 15 inches, and weighs 6 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Please do see my other auctions for quality New Mexico state and Interstate route markers! Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with any route number of your choice, and not just this style, but older and newer ones, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A. Life doesn’t happen along the interstates. It’s against the law. Figure about 8 lb. Lewis & Clark National Forest guide sign. Up for sale today is this US Forest Service Lewis & Clark National Forest guide sign. Made to the exact standards as used from the 1910s to the 1930s by the US Forest Service to guide hikers along the trails, roads, and highways so they wouldn’t get lost and possibly eaten by bears. The signs were posted in the National Forests of all 50 states; this one is from Montana. The Lewis & Clark National Forest spans 2,912 sq. Of west central Montana, and is managed as two separate zones, the Jefferson Division and the Rocky Mountain Division. The Jefferson Division is mostly grass and shrublands. In this section, the landscape is dotted with fewer forested areas, which mostly occur in “island” pockets throughout that portion of the division. The Rocky Mountain Division, which straddles the Continental divide, has been designated a wilderness for much of the land area. Therefore, much of the management of this Division involves implementing and maintaining environmental preservation practices. I can, of course, make this sign with any forest or destinations of your choice. Here is your chance to own a beautiful sign commemorating all the fun you and your loved ones have had in this beautiful National Forest, without breaking the bank. I can make any destination sign; inquire about your home town! The sign is flat printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 9 lb.
