New York Hudson River Estuary marker. Up for sale today is this New York Hudson River Estuary sign. Made to the exact standards used along the highways and byways of New York. This sign is posted at crossings of creeks and streams that drain to the Hudson River. The fish shown on the sign is an Atlantic sturgeon, the largest fish found in the river. An original of these is most likely to be found in active service on the roads of upstate New York. The New York State Police knows where they are supposed to be-on their posts, not in the trunk of your car. So here’s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece… Without chancing legal trouble. The sign is 16 by 8 inches, and weighs 3 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. 16 1/2 by 16 inch Illinois US route 45 highway marker. Made to the 1957 specification that Illinois had for a few years with the absence of the letters US to accommodate larger numerals. The spec was overruled by the feds in 1961 and US was put back. Condition is as shown in the photos. Sign is black screen print on smooth yellow Engineer Grade Scotchlite reflective sheeting on steel. It lies completely straight and flat and has patina commensurate with its service. Signs guaranteed old original authentic.

Made to the exact 1957 standard from the origins of the Eisenhower interstate highway system. This design was supplanted by the modern shield style – often with the state name omitted! – in 1971, and it gets harder and harder to find the original-style interstate route markers in many states. This particular section of the interstate route is a significant part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and runs from the state’s border with Ohio across most of Pennsylvania, then into New Jersey. Interstate 76 diverges from the Penna Turnpike at Valley Forge, however, turning to enter Philadelphia on the Schuylkill Expressway. It later becomes the North-South Freeway in New Jersey. I can, of course, make this sign with any route or destination of your choice. The type of reflective sheeting dates it to being most likely from the 1960s, as the specification was abolished by 1971. Condition is as shown in the photos. Sign is black screen print on old style yellowish-white engineer grade sheeting, on aluminum. It lies completely straight and flat with patina commensurate with its service. Idaho State Highway 62 route marker. Up for sale today is this Idaho State Highway 62 sign. Made to the exact standards as used from 1926 into the 1940s to along this historic highway. Highway 62 is a short route in Lewis County connecting Craigmont to Nezperce in the northern part of the state. An original of these is very rare to find scrapped. Most of them have disappeared from the roads of Idaho many years ago, replaced with the modern issue. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without breaking the bank. The sign is 21 by 14 inches, and weighs 7 lb. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
