Very nice unrestored 100% original California license plate. 1916, with 1919 renewal. 13 by 5 inches; blue legend on white background. Completely straight and flat, with excellent original porcelain as seen in the photos. Fresh out of the barn! Matching number on the star tab. A natural 1919 issue: they finished up 1918 at number 485,000 or so. Porcelain plates are fragile, because the coating is literally glass fused to the steel. To protect it from damage, the plate will be packed carefully for transport. Plates guaranteed old, authentic, and – if applicable – compliant with YOM regulations of the state of their issue.
