US Route 1 is the eastern seaboard’s longest highway, totaling over 1700 miles between Fort Kent, Maine and Key West, Florida. The Florida segment enters the state just north of Jacksonville and proceeds to Daytona, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and then between the keys across a series of bridges. This last segment, the Overseas Highway, was completed in 1938, extending the route from Miami to Key West. An original of these is very hard to come by.
