Hollywood Regency brass wall art sculpture by American designer Curtis Jere. This mid-century modern Curtis Jere bamboo branch depicts slender chutes with delicate leaves. The photos simply do not do it justice. You will certainly fall in love with the graceful organic form and subtle patina variations that are better celebrated by the naked eye. Not only this brass wall art aesthetically pleasing but its in remarkable condition as well. Curtis Jere Bamboo Sculpture Dimensions: 46 Wide x 4 Deep x 27 High. Curtis Jeré was the shared pseudonym of two artists, Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels, who used enamel, brass, copper, and steel to create decorative wall sculptures. Fels and Freiler were brothers-in-law who began collaborating in 1963, sharing an interest in what they described as gallery-quality art for the masses. The two employed a variety of traditional techniquessuch as enameling, pouring resin, and bronze castingto create abstract metal works of clustered, modular shapes. In addition to a variety of abstract pieces, the two also created costume jewelry. At its height, Artisan House employed 300 workers. Vtg Signed Curtis Jere Wash Day in Capri Welded Metal Village 53 Wall Sculpture

Vintage welded metal wall sculpture by Curtis Jere. It shows a European village scene with laundry hanging from the windows, I’ve seen this one on-line with the title Wash Day in Capri. It’s a complicated structure with multiple buildings, corrugated tile roofs, bell tower, staircases, cafe tables & umbrellas, and screen mesh trees. There are daubs of color with red, blue, white and yellow details. The metal surface has an old weathered patina. It is signed on the back with a C. Jere metal tag and has a black signature on the front on the lower right corner of the last building on the right. It’s about 53″ long x 29″ tall. It weighs about 17 pounds. It is structurally sound and can be hung. It’s missing three elements that I know of, 2 mesh trees, 1 on the far left and 1 on the top of the steps center bottom, and the corrugated roof tile and chimney on the left most tower (I circled the areas in green on the last pic). I don’t know if anything else is missing. The bottom steps and patio section might be a little bent or shifted. The trees have minor bends. The metal surfaces are old and crusty. It’s dusty in the hard to reach areas. The pictures are an important part of the description, please check them out. VTG Tall Modern Kinetic Abstract Signed Dan Murphy Sculpture Metal Lucite 2853

While a student at UNC’s Law School, Dan Murphy created his first sculpture. He took his work to NY, received a positive response and never looked back! Since 1976 Dan Murphy has been creating his metal sculptures using aluminum, stainless steel and. By bending, shaping and manipulating metal he creates highly desirable free form art sculptures. He uses metal forming equipment he made himself in order to create his brilliant sculptures. Dan Murphy has developed & defined his own recognizable style. His work has won multiple national awards. Check out some of his items (and their prices) on 1st dibs! Here’s your opportunity to own one of his fine creations for a fraction of the cost being charged on other marketplaces. This sculptures features aluminum ribbon spirals, twists and turns measuring approx. 22 3/4 inches tall. X 10 inches wide on a clear lucite base that is 6 1/2 inches sq. This beauty is signed Dan Murphy and dated 1982. Even though this sculpture was created 35+ years ago, it has withstood the test of time. It is in great pre-owned, pre-loved vintage condition. There are a few very tiny surface scratches, each approx. The width of a strand of hair. (example shown in extreme close up- picture 7). These are apparent upon close inspection when seeking them out. We noticed a few areas that seem to have some sort of oxidation/tarnish/patina? To the metal &/or finish. We aren’t exactly sure what this is, hence using the words above to describe it. These areas look like they have hard water stains. We attempted to photograph these areas, but our camera wouldn’t focus on them. We did not attempt to clean these areas as we weren’t certain as to. What the appropriate product to use would be. Again, these are only noticeable when seeking them out / upon. As the pictures indicate, this sculpture displays beautifully & these minor “issues” shouldn’t be. This piece is versatile in that it fits the bill for many different design decors. Mid Century Modern, Brutalist, Minimalist etc… PLEASE NOTE: The black piece under the clear lucite base in some of the photographs. Is not part of the sculpture, we had placed it there. This fun 1990’s sculpture with sanded steel surfaces and raw spot welded joints scratched/painted removable/posable central element measures18″ tall on a 12 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ x 5/8″ thick steel base. It has pleasing unfinished surfaces contrasting with painted accents and light rust. The 9 3/4″ wide central frame of 3/16″ square stock has spring-tensioned hammer-wrought central arms which can hold the painted and rusted abstract 9 1/4″ x 6 1/2″ central element is many differnt positions playfully crossing the lines between static and dynamic.
